Take a breath. Through your nose. Notice that breath: the air in through the nostrils; the chest with its slight expansion; the same with the belly. Perhaps you can feel your ribcage expanding and contracting.
Just notice. Don’t try to make your breath do anything. Just. Feel. The. Breath. Let your body feel it. Don’t think about it.
Watch how your breath slows and the body regulates itself. This may take a while. Be with it as much as you can. Keep coming back when you lose contact.
This is your grounding. This is the place from which your being (as a whole) has an opportunity to let what’s important rise to your awareness.
